Here you will find information about some of the organizations I have been involved in within the community. While I have experience with other organizations and clubs (listed in the far right column), I have chosen to specifically highlight my time with the Clemson Outdoor Lab as it has directly influenced my choice of career path.
Clemson Outdoor Lab
The Clemson Outdoor Lab, located in Pendleton, SC, is a full service camp and retreat center open year-round. It hosts five residential camps in the summer (Camp Hope, Sertoma, Odyssey, Lion's Den, Cherith) and day/weekend camps in the fall, winter, and spring, (Camp Sunshine, Day Camp, Academy Camp) as well as event/cabin bookings.

Camp Sertoma
In the summer of 2021, I had the opportunity to join the staff at the Outdoor Lab as a counselor for Camp Sertoma. Camp Sertoma is an annual summer program for d/Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and/or underprivileged children. Each child is sponsored by various Sertoma Clubs located throughout the state of South Carolina.

My knowledge of American Sign Language contributed greatly to my experience with the campers. As one of the few counselors with ample knowledge of ASL, it was my job to help provide a bridge of communication between d/Deaf campers and hearing staff.
UPIC
From January to August of 2022 I acted as the Program Intern for Camp Sertoma through the Clemson UPIC Program. Throughout my internship I was responsible for documenting/organizing all camper registrations, as well as physical preparation for camp and regular communication updates with Sertomans. I also worked as Program Intern for Camp Sunshine from August to December of 2022 with similar duties.
Other Involvement
ASL Club
The Clemson ASL club meets several times throughout the semester at various locations in the local area to socialize and discuss/organize Deaf events.
Delta Zeta Sorority
Pi Epsilon Chapter
Delta Zeta Pi Epsilon is Clemson's chapter of Delta Zeta sorority. Through my membership I was able to participate in various community service events on and off campus.
ClemsonLIFE
ClemsonLIFE is a program that offers a collegiate experience for young men and women with intellectual disabilities. It prepares students for competitive employment and independent living through a combination of academic coursework and career exploration. ClemsonLIFE hosts several events throughout the year and provides many opportunities for volunteer work.
